The list of awards Fritchey has received during his lifetime is not small. These are a few noteworthy achievements from the large list of his receiving.

2009 Outstanding Public Servant Award: This award recognizes those who are elected or appointed government officials and have dedicated whole-heartedly their deepest efforts to make a positive difference in the community the government.

2) Illinois Environmental Council 2007: John for his incredible achievements, humanitarian efforts in this direction and for his ability to make a difference earned the ‘100% Pro-Environment Voting Record’ and has kept its worth.
3) American Cancer Society 2007 Leadership Award: John received this award for being responsible in the passing of the Smoke-Free Illinois Act, a move which has changed the life of many who have been affected by it.
4) Illinois Farm Bureau – John received this award for his work towards Agriculture. Called as the ‘Edgar County Farm Bureau 2006 Friend of Agriculture Award’, this is probably one of the finest achievements of John Fritchey.
