After obtaining his degree in law, John started working on the post of an Illinois Assistant Attorney General, a high post which allowed him to represent the state in both federal and state courts, allowing him to use his inborn skills and traits to the fullest.
However, John always felt compelled to continue with public service which happened to one of his deepest traits. So finally in 1996, Fritchey was elected after running for state representative to the Illinois General Assembly. At this time, John was only 32 years old, all set to make a real difference in the lives of those he was soon going to touch.
John’s greatest ability was to obtain personalized support from both local elected officials and broad grassroots support. John’s this particular achievement allowed various political publications to call him the ‘new face of Chicago Democrats’. It was his hard efforts, effective leadership and incredible accomplishments that the national Democratic Leadership Council named John ‘twice’ in their ‘100 Rising Stars to Watch’ in the whole country (2000 and 2003), a matter of great pride for anyone.
Right after his election, John has always found himself focused most on the matters of campaign finance and ethics.
